Understand yourself. Understand others.

DISC is a simple framework for understanding four distinct ways of being in the world.

What is DISC?

DISC is one of the world's most widely used frameworks for understanding behaviour. Rather than putting people in boxes, it describes four distinct styles — four different ways of seeing, deciding, and connecting — that combine differently in every one of us.

The model traces back to the 1920s, when psychologist Dr. William Moulton Marston set out to describe how people respond to the world around them. His work became the foundation for the DISC framework used by millions of people today.

At ur-i.am we pair each style with a colour — Red, Yellow, Green, and Blue — to make the framework easy to remember and even easier to use in everyday life.

Red — Dominant

Reds are direct, decisive, and driven by results. They thrive on challenges and move fast. If you've ever met someone who seems to run on pure determination, chances are they're a Red. Learn more

Yellow — Inspiring

Yellows bring the energy. Naturally optimistic and irresistibly social, they connect people, spark ideas, and have a gift for making everyone feel included. Life is rarely dull when a Yellow is in the room. Learn more

Green — Stable

Greens are the quiet backbone of every team and every family. Patient, loyal, and deeply caring, they show up consistently and make others feel genuinely heard. The world needs more Greens. Learn more

Blue — Analytical

Blues think before they act — and when they do act, it's precise. Detail-oriented and methodical, they bring rigour and reliability to everything they touch. If you need it done properly, ask a Blue. Learn more
